About Kaisa
I am a 42-year-old entrepreneur, mum/stepmum of three kids and city council member from Arabianranta, Helsinki. Currently I am a green candidate in the Finnish parliamentary elections in 2019.
I work as an entrepreneur focusing on cleantech, climate and energy policy issues. I have also made angel investments in several cleantech startups.
In addition to the Helsinki city council, I am member of the city committee for urban environment, which is responsible for zoning, urban planning and environment in the city. I am also chairman of the Green Party council and during autum and winter 2017–18 I worked as family leave substitute for the Green Party’s secretary general.
Both at work and in politics my main goal is to fight climate change. I want to significantly increase the ambition level of climate policy both in Finland and the EU and create an encouraging environment for the creation of climate-friendly business solutions. I am also passionate about equality issues and improving conditions for entrepreneurship.
